On Monday, Jan. 15, we will center Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s focus on Justice through service. The MLK Day Committee is proud to partner with Pathways 4 Youth, a service of Lutheran Social of Minnesota.
Pathway 4 Youth is a resource center in St. Cloud, for youth ages 16-24 who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Pathways offers a safe, secure, nonjudgmental space and services to meet individuals’ needs and to support their growth. They also assist youth with area resources and building connections within the community.
We invite you to partner with them by donating items to restock the supplies they offer youth. More youth are asking for services every year.
Below is a list of items you can bring to the River’s Edge Convention Center in downtown St. Cloud from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15. Items unique to the Beloved Community may include silk bonnet/satin scarves and hair products for people with Afro-textured or curly hair. Ready-made food that requires no cooking is highly in demand.
Donations will also be collected from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. during MLK Family Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 13 at St. Cloud State University.
Dr. King once said, "Anybody can be great because anybody can serve." Dr. King committed his life to public service. The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebreation provides another great opportunity for all of us to be great by serving our community.
